How to accomplish your Goal/Bucket List?

Updated: Jan 2, 2020

Everyone is different but even when something worked before, maybe it doesn't seem to work after a while so you have to change it up.

Yep, I've been there done that because I am my own worst enemy and know how to bypass my own productivity methods that I set up for myself. Therefore don't take my word for it since what works for me might not work for you but doesn't hurt to try. What I found out is that to keep your method simple and easy, don't make it too tedious and time consuming (take it from me).

Here are some of the list of tools I've used and still use. What my opinions are...

1. Create that list and call it what you want (Goal, mission, purpose, bucket list)

You have to start some where and don't just list the "big" goals such as buying a house or getting married. Also list the small fun goals like learning a new language, going to a trip with my sisters, etc. How to create a goal? use the S.M.A.R.T (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time-bound) Goal Method.

2. Find a platform such an app or notebook to keep track

The photo above is my notebook. There are amazing apps out there but I found that having a notebook is more effective for me. I use the app as a tool to accomplish my goals and track my progress while the notebooks to remind me of why I want to accomplish these goals. Another suggestion is using wunderlist and Pinterest to get ideas if you don't know where to start.

3. Create a Game Plan

When creating a list, think about why you put certain things on your list. The Why is more important than anything because you will soon lose motivation and end up not accomplishing anything. First step to any goal is so important yet so hard (this is from a bucket list notebook on amazon).

  1. Why did you want to accomplish this goal?

  2. What it looks like?

  3. Do you want to do it alone or with others?

  4. What prevented you from starting or accomplishing it?

  5. To make it happen, what are the steps you want to take?

  6. What's the start date?

  7. What's the goal date?

4. Prioritize your list

Choose the top 3-5 items on your list that you feel like you can tackle first and go down the list from there. Write down the first steps that you can do.

5. Bonus

Create a morning and evening routine that includes your bucket list or taking steps towards your goals. SHARE! SHARE! SHARE YOUR GOALS/BUCKET LIST! with your friends and family, they will always come to support you especially when you need it the most.
