Not so New Year but doesn't mean not so new Me! Time to Re-Determine your resolution

Updated: Aug 13, 2020

It's half way thru the year and I barely put a dent in my New Year's Resolution and during the year due to things in life that are out of your control (in my case, the pandemic of 2020).

If you follow me, you see my daily habit and time tracker but then it becomes routine and it becomes a habit that I need to get done and becoming passive about it.

This is when you look at your PROGRESS! Don't dwell on the fact you didn't do something, look at what you have done so far this year. Otherwise it will stop you from moving forward (and end up waiting for the new year to restart).

Like I said, things happen in life so does your New Year Resolution has to change based on that?

Not necessarily. Those can be your long term goals anyway so it is in your mind for when you do get the opportunity (more time to save and plan towards it). However I would prioritize your list to what you are able to work on.

Few Tips and Tricks

  1. Look at your New Year Resolution List and re-list it to what you can do and what you cannot do. You can see my list of things I want to try aka my Bucket List

  2. Breakdown the goal with a deadline. See my post on How to accomplish your Goal/Bucket List

  3. Have a diary/habit tracker (see my post on How to track/manage your time) and if you started early this year, go back to see the progress you did so far and what you've struggled on.

  4. Go through your list to see what you can accomplish this year and what might need to be put on hold.

  5. Put in your calendar every month or week to look at your list and progress.

  6. BONUS Tip: Keep a diary. I have a 5 year Diary which you can get on amazon or other places. I started this in 2018 and so on my 3rd year now. You won't be able to write a whole essay but it's more of a quick report. (Oct 9-10 had nothing so I should do my best this year to had something productive that day)
